As I was thinking about what to share with you for my very first Music Missions newsletter I thought it would be cool to also include a photo. So I found this photo of me in Nicaragua, quickly uploaded it and then began thinking about all of the things I wanted to share with you. But I couldn’t stop staring at this photo.

This photo brought me back to this moment at a school in a remote village in Nicaragua.  We strapped our instruments to the roof of our van and traveled for hours in the heat on terrible dirt roads to get to this place to be with these students.  We just wanted to surprise these kids and try and brighten their day with a little music. These kids ended up surprising us by learning all of the lyrics to our songs and they sang along with us in English and we praised God together.  I was blown away.  God’s blessed me with some incredible music moments over the years,  but this moment was especially moving and I’ll never forget it.  I knew I was supposed to be there in that moment.  I knew I would never regret taking the leap of faith to mess with the security of my job and start this mission.  It solidified my belief that music could be used to change the world.

Thank you for supporting me and joining me in this adventure.  I can’t wait to share with you all that God does in this journey.
